Approach to New Age Perfumery – Choosing The Right Scent!!!

New Age Perfumery is a highly dynamic segment of perfumery that is typified by an emphasis on the signature, the bespoke, the artisanal and the exclusive

Changing scents with seasons is a very traditional approach. Modern perfumery works differently

In our opinion (@MLIM Fragrances) there is nothing as a seasonal scent. It all comes down to smelling the way you think you should smell. Try stuff on and notice what you like; make a mental note when you think something smells good, and try to remember what it is that smelled that way. Think about what you want people to associate with you, and think about what you yourself want to be reminded of.

Think about the event you’re buying for: Is it for your self-care routine, for your date, for bedtime, an occasion such as your birthday or a wedding? Scents are connected to emotion and memory, and often when you smell that scent again it transports you back to the time you wore that. Perfumes are connected to our emotions and memory, so ask yourself, what do I need this perfume for?

In other words, you don’t have to smell like a fruity cocktail this winter — unless you want to

Citrus notes fade very quickly, though they are the most refreshing. Instead, go for strong florals, amber, and Middle Eastern ouds—scents born in hot climes and tested through the centuries. The hotter the temperature in a country, the stronger and heavier the scent is.

Tips for using scents during winter :

Spray on the pulse points—the back of the neck and both sides of the carotids, the neckline, and the wrist

The dry skin doesn’t hold scent well, so keep hydrated and treat the skin with deeply moisturizing lotions, even when the humidity is high

Change perfumes based on occasions. For example the ones used during the day for official visits will be lighter than the ones to be used in the evening

Go for EDP or Pure Perfume with less alcohol concentration which results in a lower evaporation rate, better absorption & long-lasting scent of up to 5-6 hours
